Expression of Aurora Kinase A and B in chondrosarcoma and its relationship with the prognosis

چکیده
PURPOSE To investigate the expression of aurora kinase A and B in patients with chondrosarcoma and consider it as a prognostic marker and molecular target of therapy. METHODS To evaluate the relationship of the aurora kinase A and B and the clinical pathological parameters and prognosis of chondrosarcoma. 72 case chondrosarcoma and 42 case chondroma were performed immunohistochemistry on the tissue microarray paraffin sections. The survival time of patients was followed-up. RESULTS The expression of aurora kinase A and B in chondrosarcoma was significantly higher than that in chondroma (p<0.01). There were differences about the expression of aurora kinase A and B in chondrosarcoma between the recurrence group and the non-recurrence group, metastatic group and non-metastatic group (p<0.05), but not age and gender (p>0.05). The expression of aurora kinase A and B were significantly lower in group low grade conventional chondrosarcoma than that in groups medium and high grade conventional chondrosarcoma (p<0.01). The expression of aurora kinase A and B in chondrosarcoma showed a positive correlation (p<0.01). According to the Kaplan Meier analysis and multivariate Cox regression analysis, the survival rate was significantly different between the patients with positive aurora kinase A and the patients with negative expression (p<0.05) and aurora kinase A expression was an independent risk marker of survival (HR=11.263, 95%CI: 2.317-54.748, P=0.003). CONCLUSION Both the aurora kinase A and B might involve in the oncogenic, invasive and metastatic process of chondrosarcoma; however, the mechanism is still unclear. The aurora kinase A and B could be used as a new prognostic marker and molecular therapeutic target for chondrosarcoma. Expression of Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase Protein in Human Breast Cancer
Background & Objectives: Anaplastic lymphoma Kinase (ALK) is a receptor tyrosine kinase involved in the genesis of several human cancers. ALK was initially identified because of its involvement in anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL). ALK is believed to foster tumorigenesis following activation by autocrine and/or paracrine growth loops. Studies reveal that the presence of anti-ALK antibodies ...
متن کاملPrognosis and Survival Study in Patients with Glioblastoma Multiform and Its Relationship with EGFR Expression
Background and Aim: Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common malignant and invasive tumor of the brain. The relation between prognosis and survival of GBM patients with Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) expression is challenging. Thus, we aimed to evaluate the prognosis and survival of patients with GBM and its relationship with EGFR expression. Materials and Methods: This single...
متن کاملRare Absence of CD79alpha in B-ALLs is not Associated with Altered Prognosis
Background: The diagnosis of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) on the basis of the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations in 2016 requires the expression of CD19 with CD79a (CD79a), cCD22 and CD10. CD79a is an integral B cell antigen expressed at all stages. Its absence in B-ALL has only been rarely reported. In this study, we described three cases of B-ALL showing complete l...
متن کاملDeficient Expression of Bruton's Tyrosine Kinase in Monocytes from X-Linked Agammaglobulinemia as Evaluated by a Flow Cytometric Analysis and its Clinical Application to Carrier Detection
Background: The B-cell defect in X-linked agammaglobulinemia (XLA) is caused by mutations in the gene for Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK). BTK mutations result in deficient expression of BTK protein in peripheral blood monocytes. Methods: Using the anti-BTK monoclonal antibody (48-2H), a flow cytometric analysis of intra cytoplasmic BTK protein expression in monocytes was performed to identify I...
متن کاملEvaluation of PDL-1 Protein Expression in Tumor Tissues of Patients with Gasteric Cancer
Background and Objective: Nowadays, it has been proven that the immune system plays a major role in the occurrence or treatment of some cancers. The PDL-1 proteins are among the components of the immune system, which are expressed in different body cells, including B cells and T cells. In this regard, the present study was conducted to determine the frequency of PDL-1 protein expression and its...
